What is PEERS?

We are excited to announce our upcoming PEERS (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills) group for adolescents and young adults. Our certified providers are dedicated to helping individuals develop essential social skills in a supportive and engaging environment.

What is PEERS?

PEERS is a evidence-based social skills intervention designed for adolescents and young adults, particularly those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other social challenges. The program focuses on teaching concrete social skills through interactive lessons, role-playing activities, and real-life practice opportunities.

What will participants learn?

Throughout the program, participants will learn a variety of valuable skills, including: Making and keeping friends, Initiating and maintaining conversations, Joining group conversations and activities, Handling peer conflict and rejection, Using appropriate humor and humor comprehension, Good sportsmanship and winning/losing graciously

Who can participate?

Our PEERS group is open older adolescents and young adults (typically ages 15-25) who experience challenges in social interaction. Participants may have diagnoses such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, anxiety disorders, or other social communication difficulties.

Program Details:

During this 16 week program, participants will meet once a week virtually. Participants and Coaches/Parents will be in two simultaneous but separate virtual groups. Each week has tasks to be completed at home to practice skills learned.

INTAKE IS OPEN NOW APRIL 1 - 14th

Duration: 16 weeks, Starting the first week of May 2024

Frequency: 1x weekly (time to be determined with participant inputs)

Session Format: Each session typically lasts for 60min and includes a mix of didactic instruction, role-playing exercises, and group discussions.

Location: Virtually over Zoom for Healthcare

Cost: $1840 (weekly payment plan available)

Heidi is a PEERS certified instructor and Occupational Therapist with many years of experience working with people with autism and ADHD.

Eileen Deswiage (BSc, MSc, RTC)

Eileen is a PEERS certified instructor and a Psychologist with many years of experience in direct and group based counselling.
